Our visions

Treasure our Planet, conserve natural resources and save the ecological environment. We encourage the public to reduce pollution and waste while working on a sustainable future through cross-sector collaborations.

Our services

We help save the environment in our daily lives that we raise the awareness of environmental protection among the general public and ignite their actions, reduce the amount of municipal solid waste, promote green community and increase the livability of our city.

Our works

Regarding municipal solid waste reduction, both ‘Sha Tin Community Green Station’ and ‘Kwun Tong Community Green Station’ offer recycling service to collect electrical appliances, computers and related accessories, glass bottles, plastic bottles, compact fluorescent light-bulbs, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent tubes, used paper and metal. We also keenly promote ‘source separation’ and ‘clean recycling’ in the community.

We will also initiate an exchange platform for the industry and organise a seminar titled ‘The implementation of municipal solid waste charging – how should the Social Welfare sector respond?’ from 3pm to 5pm on Wednesday 7 June 2017.

‘Barter Market’ campaign

To spread the ‘use less, waste less’ message is another focus of our work. We will organise a bimonthly ‘Barter Market’ on the following dates to promote waste reduction:

20 – 21 May
11 June (World Environment Day)
22 – 23 July
5 – 6 August
14 – 15 October
16 – 17 December

Organic Farmer's Market @ Urban Oasis

A green community should be an oasis for every city dweller. We will thus continue to expand our ‘Urban Oasis’ to involve the public in urban organic farming with rented farmland. The next farmland lease will start from 1 July 2017 and application is open now. We will also organise a farmers’ market every month to support local organic farmers and fair trade.

Schedule is as follows:
20 – 21 May
14 – 15 October
11 – 12 November
9 – 10 December
